Cybersecurity Requirements for DOD Contractors

Are you interested in bidding on a Department of Defense (DOD) contract? If your company isn't able to show proof that you're working towards meeting the NIST SP800-171 requirements, you're putting current and future contract opportunities in jeopardy. In 2018, bid language will include sections stating your understanding and acceptance of the NIST SP800-171 requirements. With this clause in your contracts, lack of adequate documentation demonstrating both a System Security Plan and Plan of Action as it relates to the NIST control areas is grounds for having your contract “terminated for cause”.
