School to be Honored

The San Diego Regional Hate Crimes Coalition's Education committee recently announced that the Vista Academy of the Visual and Performing Arts has won the 2011 Unity in Action Award for Challenge.  The presentation of the award to the students who participated in the program will be held at 8:10 am December 16 at 600 N. Santa Fe Avenue. Deputy District Attorney Oscar Garcia, chairman of the SDRHCC, and Chris Saunders, education chairwoman of the SDRHCC, will attend, as well as members of different law enforcement agencies.
