Welcome to Part 1 of Cobb House Creations! Throughout the week, students will embark on an enriching journey of building, painting, and artistic expression while gaining valuable insights into the history and significance of shelter structures throughout time.
As students assist in constructing a second cobb house overlooking our farm, they'll explore the history of shelter structures. From ancient mudbrick houses to medieval timber-framed buildings, they'll learn how shelters protect us from the elements and predators, ensuring safety and comfort.
Through engaging discussions, students will discover the essential role of shelters in providing sanctuary throughout history. From sturdy castle walls to cozy teepees, the diverse array of structures will inspire an appreciation for human ingenuity.
While the cobb house walls dry, students will unleash their creativity through painting and cave art. Inspired by ancient storytelling traditions, they'll create their own cave art pieces, preserving the legacy of Cobb House Creations for future generations.
Throughout the week, students will have the opportunity to develop practical skills in woodworking and sustainable construction practices, with exciting projects such as constructing miniature lending libraries and birdhouses. Under the guidance of experienced instructors, they'll learn safe tool handling, precise wood cutting, and eco-friendly building techniques. Join us for an adventure-filled week of building, learning, and artistic expression!
