POSITION SUMMARY
Directs, organizes, and implements sales and membership retention activities. Responsible for achieving overall sales and retention objectives to ensure the Chamber has the financial resources to carry out the Chamber’s mission. Manages Ambassador Committee.
 
SKILLS NEEDED
College-level education preferred but not required; 2 years experience in relationship development, sales, sales management, or related field; excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong customer orientation; general computer skills; must be organized, can work independently as well as in a team setting. Bilingual English and Spanish preferred.

Membership Sales

  • Seek out and meet with businesses in the Vista area, learning about their business and goals
    • Help businesses align with Chamber resources to assist with said goals
    • Keep inventory of current and prospective members
    • Develop strategy for follow-up on prospective new member leads
    • Participate in the development of sales materials and develop and deliver sales presentations
    • Work to upgrade current and new members to higher levels of membership
    • Seek out and secure advertising partners and event sponsors

Membership Development

    • Communicate with members on a daily basis, providing exceptional experiences
    • Enhance the image of the Chamber through your communication with members and involvement in the community
    • Develop, implement, and manage a successful membership retention plan
    • Assist Chamber members in taking full advantage of their membership
    • Track membership engagement. Visit and discuss concerns with members. Maintain ongoing member dialogue in both informal and structured settings
    • Cultivate and maintain strong working relationships with Chamber members and volunteers

Other

    • Manage Chamber Ambassador Program
    • Coordinate, schedule, and present New-Member Orientation sessions
    • Schedule and participate in Member Ribbon Cuttings
    • Assist in the collection of delayed renewals and requests for cancellation
    • Maintain knowledge of Chamber goals, objectives, services, programs, events, and member benefits
    • Actively support and participate in Chamber programming and events
    • Assists in other aspects of Chamber operations or other duties as deemed necessary

    • Salary range - $40,000-$45,000 annually plus commissions paid twice per month (no max on commission!)
